Water and Sewer Rates
Your bill combines water, sewer and
sanitation services on one bill, which reduces operating
expenses and keeps rates lower.
The water and sewer portions of the bill consist of two parts. The
first is a
monthly service fee that covers the costs
associated with administrating water service to your home or business, including printing and mailing bills, meter reading and account
processing. The rate for this fee depends on the size of your water
meter. The second is a volume based charge that covers the costs
associated with delivering water to your homes, such as
construction and maintenance of the water collection structures,
treating water and maintaining the distribution and collection system in the city.
The rate for this charge increases incrementally to promote wise water
use.
