CHEYENNE, WY – Cheyenne’s drinking water has not yet been affected by the Mullen Fire and continues to be safe. However, the Mullen fire is approaching Rob Roy Reservoir, which supplies a large portion of Cheyenne’s drinking water. The Board of Public Utilities’ water supply and water quality experts continue to monitor incoming raw water and treated water. Using advance treatment methods, the Water Treatment Plant can treat water quality issues associated with forest fires. Cheyenne’s drinking water remains safe.

At press time, the Mullen Fire in the Medicine Bow National Forest has reached over 17,763 acres. For the latest information on the Mullen Fire click here, Facebook @MullenFire or Twitter @FS_MBRTB.
