CHEYENNE, WY – The City of Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities (Board) provides clean, safe, and reliable water resources to nearly 75,000 people in the Cheyenne area. Crews work around the clock to manage Cheyenne’s water supply from collection to treatment and then delivery.

Forest Fires such as the Mullen Fire provide challenges, but rest assured the Board is proactively monitoring water quality, keeping alternate reservoirs in Curt Gowdy State Park (outside of the fire area) at recommended capacity, and working with firefighters and other stakeholders within the affected area. Cheyenne’s water supply and water quality remain safe and the Board will continue to share any news/updates as it become available.

“From near and far, the Board thanks our cooperating agencies and firefighters for battling the Mullen fire,” stated the Board’s Director, Brad Brooks. “Their relentless efforts have been protecting the safety of our neighboring communities and critical resources. We cannot thank them enough.”

At press time, the Mullen Fire in the Medicine Bow National Forest has reached over 127,503 acres. Area closures have been updated. For the latest information on the Mullen Fire visit the official website here, Facebook @MullenFire or Twitter @FS_MBRTB.
