Topic: Learning to "Live within our means". Establish a foundation of understanding on the creation, operation, current and future water status, and critical water issues facing the City of Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities. Attendees: State, City, and County Officials, and members of the greater development community. Laramie County Legislators and City and Board staff.

  • EPA Lead Service Line Requirements: An update on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI), including timelines and replacement requirements, and how BOPU plans to meet federal standards while maintaining public trust and financial stability. Colorado River Curtailment & Regional Impacts: A look at ongoing supply challenges in the Colorado River Basin and how curtailment and water allocation decisions may affect utilities, agriculture, industry, and regional growth.
  • Water Conservation Measures: An overview of BOPU’s current and future conservation programs aimed at reducing water use while supporting economic growth.
  • Development & Expansion of Water Utilities: As Cheyenne grows, BOPU will discuss infrastructure planning, capital improvements, and funding strategies to support sustainable development.
  • Grey Water & Wastewater Reuse Potential: A discussion of grey water systems, wastewater treatment advances, and opportunities for water reuse to strengthen long-term water resilience.
