BOPU is continuing construction on a manhole replacement project at the intersection of Dell Range Boulevard and Grandview Avenue.  Modified traffic lane closures are expected for the next two weeks.

• Westbound north lane closure beginning 4/20/2026 until 5/4/2026
• Eastbound south lane closure beginning 4/27/2026 until 5/4/2026

While the City aims to minimize disruptions to daily commutes, some delays and inconveniences are unavoidable. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternate routes, and exercise caution in the construction zone. The City also asks for the public’s patience and respect for workers on site.

This project is part of BOPU’s ongoing efforts to improve sewer service reliability and accelerate the replacement of aging infrastructure that has reached the end of its useful life.

Construction will be completed by Mechanical Systems Inc. (MSI). BOPU appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as these important upgrades are made.

Beginning the week of April 20, 2026, the City of Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities (BOPU) anticipates construction activities to begin on a water main rehabilitation project including a full road closure of E 1st Ave. between Evan Ave. and Central Ave.  Closure will also include House Ave.

Construction on this project, and road closure, is expected to be completed by mid-May, depending on weather and material availability.

The BOPU will work diligently to keep homes and businesses accessible, however vehicles should not be parked in the Right-of-Way. This area will be clearly marked. Direct access to driveways may not be possible during construction. The BOPU asks residents to park safely in areas away from the work zone.

Water shut offs will be coordinated, but unfortunately unplanned emergency shut offs may occur.

This project will advance water service reliability for the area and is part of the BOPU’s initiative to accelerate the renewal of water infrastructure that has reached the end of its useful life. Work will be completed by Aztec Construction Company. The BOPU thanks residents for their patience as we upgrade the water system.  

BOPU expects construction activities to begin next week on a new water main installation project on Dell Range Blvd. Work will initially begin the week of March 9, 2026, on the Airport Golf Course, and will then continue east on Dell Range Blvd. to Prairie Ave., using horizontal directional drilling to install a new 8-inch water main line. This installation method should drastically reduce surface disturbances, however, intersections and water service reconnections to all homes and businesses will require open excavations for connection. This work will be coordinated directly with homeowners and business owners as construction progresses.

Water shut offs will be coordinated, but unfortunately unplanned emergency shut offs may occur.

The north lane of Dell Range Blvd. will be closed for the duration of construction.

Pipe installation within Dell Range Boulevard is expected to be completed prior to Cheyenne Frontier Days, with the full project completion expected in late September 2026. The BOPU will work diligently to keep homes and businesses accessible, however vehicles should not be parked in the Right-of-Way within the work zone between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays on occasion. This area will be clearly marked. Direct access to driveways may not be possible for short periods of time during construction. In these cases, the BOPU asks residents to park safely in areas away from the work zone.

While minimizing disruption to daily commutes is the goal, some minor inconveniences are inevitable. We ask for residents’ patience, respect and safety for the workers on site.

Beginning Monday, April 20, 2026, BOPU will begin working on a sanitary sewer point repair on Platte Ave.

To safely complete this project, Platte Ave. will be closed between E.8th St. and E. 9^th St.   The work is expected to take approximately 5 to 7 days.
